Never Monarch by user5918649

Format: Commander

Commander: Garland, Royal Kidnapper

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Garland, Royal Kidnapper leads a Dimir theft deck built around the monarch subgame. The primary plan is to become monarch, goad opposing creatures, and steal them whenever an opponent takes the crown, then win with a pumped, un-sacrificable stolen board. Secondary paths use mill-to-theft and reanimation: Gyruda, The Cyber-Controller, and Sepulchral Primordial turn graveyards into an army, while Charnel Serenade and Bringer of the Last Gift provide recursion. The deck relies on Garland's single face as a value engine, not a combo piece; without her it falls back on permanent theft and reanimation but loses the crucial anthem and monarch payoff.
