Deck overview

This mono-black deck operates as a fast combo-control engine capable of ending games as early as Turn 3. It leverages premier fast mana such as Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Dark Ritual, and legal Moxen to accelerate its mana curve. The primary win condition revolves around the classic infinite life-drain loop between Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, backed by redundant pieces like Bloodthirsty Conqueror, Enduring Tenacity, and Sanguine Bond. Unconditional tutors including Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Imperial Seal ensure rapid piece assembly. If the primary route is contested, the deck shifts easily into an infinite persist mill loop with Putrid Goblin, Thran Vigil, and Altar of Dementia, or establishes a hard lock using Opposition Agent and Maralen of the Mornsong. The commander Avacyn, Angel of Horror serves as an optional late-game recursive threat, ensuring the core 99 functions completely independently.
