Commander: The Watcher in the Water

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

The Watcher in the Water is a mono-blue draw-go Kraken and Tentacle deck. The Watcher enters tapped with nine stun counters, creates a 1/1 Tentacle whenever you draw on an opponent's turn, and untaps a Kraken whenever a Tentacle dies while putting a stun counter on an opposing nonland permanent. You use instant-speed draw, Rhystic Study, Consecrated Sphinx and Teferi's Ageless Insight to flood the board on other players' turns, control the board with stun counters, then win with anthem-boosted swarm, Psychosis Crawler drain, or Laboratory Maniac and Thassa's Oracle. Twenty-Toed Toad and Spawning Kraken provide alternate closers. The commander is a slow, stun-gated value engine, not a haste threat.
