Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie Aristocrats and Combo build helmed by Grimgrin, Corpse-Born. The primary game plan revolves around assembling sacrifice-based infinite loops to drain the entire table in a single turn. Its most efficient route combines Gravecrawler, Phyrexian Altar, and a death-trigger drainer such as Plague Belcher, Vengeful Dead, or The Meathook Massacre. Supported by black tutors like Demonic Tutor, Entomb, and Buried Alive, the deck reliably establishes its mana and engine setup on turn 4 and initiates a lethal combo on turn 5 with zero opponent response cycles. When combo pieces are contested, the deck pivots into an aggressive midrange Zombie strategy using token generators like Grave Titan and Headless Rider, supported by powerful lords and the graveyard recursion of The Scarab God and Lord of the Undead. While susceptible to graveyard hate and artifact removal, the deck boasts resilient recovery engines and card draw engines like Skullclamp.
