This Izzet deck is a spellslinger build that wins by chaining instants and sorceries. River Song is a draw-arranger and a tax on opponents' library manipulation: her bottom-draw works with Brainstorm, Ponder, and Gifts Ungiven, while Spoilers punishes fetch lands and scries. The main kill is a Grapeshot or Explosion storm finish, amplified by Guttersnipe, Veyran, Archmage Emeritus, and Storm-Kiln Artist. A secondary combo uses Adaptive Training Post plus Expansion // Explosion and Narset's Reversal to copy spells into a huge Explosion; Timestream Navigator and Temporal Mastery offer extra-turn lines.
