Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats strategy led by Ayara, First of Locthwain. The game plan revolves around generating disposable creature tokens and recurring creatures, then sacrificing them for continuous card advantage and life drain. Ayara sits at the center of the engine, converting every entering black creature into table-wide life loss while acting as a reliable draw engine from the command zone. High-density sacrifice fodder like Bloodghast, Gravecrawler, and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia fuels recurring drain triggers from Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Mirkwood Bats. The deck leverages big-mana generators such as Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Crypt Ghast to close games through massive life swings with Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Exsanguinate. Strong asymmetric edict engines like Dictate of Erebos and Butcher of Malakir keep opposing boards clear, allowing Ayara to comfortably grind opponents down.
