Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain control strategy helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. It leverages Oloro's eminence ability to gain life each turn without ever leaving the command zone. This steady life flow fuels card advantage engines like Necropotence, Rhystic Study, and Black Market Connections, while enabling potent lifegain payoffs such as Archangel of Thune, Crested Sunmare, Voice of the Blessed, and Karlov of the Ghost Council. To slow down aggressive and combo-focused opponents, the deck deploys a defensive pillowfort and hatebear suite featuring Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Aven Mindcensor, and Kunoros, Hound of Athreos. It maintains board control using top-tier removal including Swords to Plowshares, Farewell, Damn, and Cyclonic Rift. The deck ultimately wins through overwhelming combat damage from pumped flying creatures and indestructible tokens, backed by incremental life drain from Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Kambal, Consul of Allocation.
