The Hosts of Mordor Commander by user7785184

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The deck is a midrange amass engine built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. It grows one Army token with amass effects while the Ring tempts you to repeatedly draw four cards. The commander's ward and the Army's keywords create a resilient board presence. The primary win is a huge evasive Army, accelerated by discarding Anger and Wonder to the graveyard and by the Blasphemous Act + Fall of Cair Andros wipe that amasses on every opponent creature that dies. Sauron, Lord of the Rings acts as a hidden second copy and reanimation target, but the main plan does not depend on him. Without an early ramp piece, the deck tends to win around turn ten.
