Heartless Hidetsugu by TheMartyrMaker

Format: Commander

Commander: Heartless Hidetsugu

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-red deck is built around Heartless Hidetsugu as a one-shot kill enabler. The primary plan is to deploy the commander with haste, protect yourself from its symmetrical damage via Glacial Chasm, Platinum Angel, or Fortune Thief, then activate with a damage doubler (Furnace of Rath, Gratuitous Violence, Dictate of the Twin Gods, City on Fire, etc.) to deal lethal damage to all opponents simultaneously. The deck also packs a secondary pinger package with Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Witty Roastmaster that can close out games through repeated creature ETBs, especially when doubled. Rituals and haste enablers accelerate the commander's activation, while a handful of looting spells dig for key pieces. The strategy is linear but explosive, relying on assembling a three-card combo (commander + doubler + self-protection) to win in a single turn.
