Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color Spellslinger Storm powerhouse built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. Instead of playing traditional instant and sorcery cards that conflict with permanent-based ramp, the deck uses dual-faced Prepare creatures that enter play prepared or become prepared through specific triggers. When you cast the spell half of a prepared creature, Codie's passive ability copies that spell. This creates massive tempo swings, such as casting Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song to generate 10 Red mana, or casting Emeritus of Woe // Demonic Tutor to search your library for two cards. The deck leverages Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus to generate infinite or near-infinite mana and cards as every cast and copy triggers Magecraft. It finishes games on the same turn using Aetherflux Reservoir, Brain Freeze, or Tendrils of Agony, while using Silence and Veil of Summer to shield its winning turns.
