Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Mono-Red Voltron and burn hybrid piloted by Gau, Feral Youth. The strategy aims to rapidly deploy Gau on Turn 2, steadily grow Gau with attack triggers, and repeatedly activate its end-step ability by moving cards out of the graveyard. By leveraging dense flashback spells, unearth creatures, and exile effects like Detective's Phoenix and Relic of Progenitus, Gau deals damage equal to its power to each opponent every turn. Explosive damage multipliers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Mjölnir, Hammer of Thor combine with power doublers like Bulk Up and Unleash Fury to turn Gau into a lethal table-wide burn engine by Turn 5. Redirection spells such as Deflecting Swat and Bolt Bend protect Gau from spot removal, allowing the deck to close out the remaining life totals on Turn 6.
