Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses high-toughness creatures and defender synergy to control combat and overwhelm opponents. Led by Felothar the Steadfast, the deck turns cheap walls into efficient, hard-hitting beaters by assigning combat damage equal to toughness. Early turns focus on ramping with mana walls like Overgrown Battlement and drawing cards with cantrip creatures like Wall of Blossoms and Wall of Omens. Once Felothar or an equivalent enabler like Doran, the Siege Tower hits the board, defensive creatures become offensive threats. Felothar also provides a draw engine by sacrificing zero-power creatures to draw cards equal to their toughness without discarding. Asymmetric board wipes like Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers wipe away opposing armies while leaving low-power defenders untouched. The deck closes games through large combat attacks boosted by Tower Defense, life total manipulation via Tree of Perdition, and evasion from Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa.
