Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive mono-black tribal swarm and aristocrats strategy led by Rat King, Verminister. Its engine centers on utilizing 30 copies of Rat Colony to flood the board with scaling threats that quickly grow into lethal attackers. The commander provides reliable early board development by generating Rat tokens and counters whenever permanents leave the battlefield, while offering explosive mass reanimation for all fallen Rat Colonies. Supported by mana acceleration like Jet Medallion and Sol Ring, the deck curves aggressively into tribal multipliers including Marrow-Gnawer, Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, and Karumonix, the Rat King. Alternatively, landing Thrumming Stone or resolving Secret Salvage cascades almost the entire creature base onto the battlefield in a single turn. Aristocrat outlets like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Blood Artist, and Bastion of Remembrance translate creature trades into direct table-wide life drain, ensuring sustained pressure through opposing sweepers.
