Deck overview

Meria, Scholar of Antiquity commands a competitive Gruul stax and combo archetype modeled after mono-blue Urza shells. The deck leverages cheap zero- and one-mana artifacts alongside fast mana rocks to power out Meria ahead of curve, turning ordinary utility artifacts into green mana dorks and card-advantage impulse engines. Its proactive strategy deploys asymmetrical lock pieces such as Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Trinisphere. Because Meria can tap untapped nontoken artifacts at instant speed for mana, she turns off these symmetrical stax artifacts right before her untap step, fully breaking parity while choking opponents out of mana. Under this heavy resource suppression, the deck reliably tutors for and executes deterministic creature-based combo lines. The primary win condition utilizes Goblin Recruiter to stack Conspicuous Snoop, Torch Courier, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, and Mogg Fanatic, closing the game in a single turn with infinite damage.
