Phoenix Fire by user2574749

Format: Commander

Commander: Syrix, Carrier of the Flame

Bracket: 1

Deck overview

Syrix turns the deck's constant graveyard recursion into repeatable reach: every time a Phoenix card leaves the graveyard, Syrix fires the strongest Phoenix on the board at a player or planeswalker. The primary plan is to assemble a recursive Phoenix shell-Skarrgan Firebird, Magma Phoenix, Firewing Phoenix-and use sacrifice outlets and discard spells to feed it. Secondary paths are combat with evasive, hasty Phoenixes and incidental drain from Syr Konrad, Flayer of the Hatebound, and Warstorm Surge. The commander can be recast from the graveyard whenever another Phoenix dies, which keeps her online without commander tax. There is no hidden commander; the 99 is built entirely around Syrix's trigger.
