Deck overview

This Dimir list combines a compact Laboratory Maniac combo finish with an efficient reanimation backup shell. Commanded by Azula, Cunning Usurper, the deck leverages black tutors to assemble its primary win condition by Turn 4. While the inclusion of 23 basic lands prevents Tainted Pact from functioning as a library-clearing engine, Demonic Consultation serves as a reliable one-mana enabler to exile the library. Opponents are given a single response cycle to answer Maniac before the deck wins on its subsequent draw step. Backing this plan is an elite countermagic suite featuring Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Mana Drain to safeguard key spells. If the primary combo is disrupted, the deck rapidly pivots to reanimating massive threats like Hullbreaker Horror and Hoarding Broodlord using cheap graveyard recursion spells such as Reanimate and Animate Dead.
