Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-payment and drain engine built around The Master of Lake-town. Every point of life lost becomes mill via the commander, which pairs with Mindcrank, Bloodchief Ascension, and Syr Konrad, the Grim into recursive drain-mill loops. The deck pays life aggressively for cards and mana-Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, Peer into the Abyss, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, and a dense ritual suite-then converts that fuel into combos, devotion drains (Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Ayara, First of Locthwain), or Aetherflux Reservoir finishes. A compact reanimation package (Entomb, Buried Alive, Reanimate, Goryo's Vengeance, Whip of Erebos) cheats in Vilis, Broker of Blood, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Necrotic Ooze. Secondary angles include Doctor Doom, Unrivaled / Out of the Tombs library-empty wins and Tree of Perdition life-swap lines. The Master is a cheap, sticky engine whose death also refills the hand once graveyards are stocked.
