Deck overview

This Esper list is a synergistic token control and combo deck commanded by Marneus Calgar. The primary game plan uses low-cost mana rocks to deploy Marneus on Turn 4 alongside recurring token generators such as Ophiomancer, Charismatic Conqueror, and Faerie Artisans. Each token created triggers Marneus to draw cards, generating substantial card advantage across every turn cycle. This draw engine digs rapidly into artifact tutors and compact combo pieces. On Turn 5, the deck looks to assemble Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal or Thopter Foundry with Sword of the Meek and Ashnod's Altar. These engines produce infinite mana, allowing Marneus to draw the library and deploy drain outlets like Mirkwood Bats, Blood Artist, or Marionette Master for an instant table kill. Robust removal, hate pieces, and defensive spells provide stability against aggressive opponents.
