Affinity EDH by Buddadragon

Format: Commander

Commander: Sai, Master Thopterist

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mono-Blue Artifact engine helmed by Sai, Master Thopterist. The primary strategy is to leverage a "Cheerios" or "Affinity" style game plan, casting low-cost or cost-reduced artifacts to generate a swarm of 1/1 Thopters. These tokens serve as both a defensive screen and a resource for Sai s built-in draw engine. The deck wins through three main avenues: overwhelming the board with massive Construct tokens from Simulacrum Synthesizer and Karn, Legacy Reforged, draining opponents via Mirrodin Besieged (Phyrexian mode), or executing an infinite loop using Scrap Trawler and Myr Retriever to generate infinite tokens or mana. Sai is central to the deck's velocity, acting as both a token generator and a sacrifice outlet to dig for finishers like Kappa Cannoneer or Cyberdrive Awakener (implied by the "artifacts become 5/5s" effect of Tezzeret the Seeker).
