Deck overview

This Selesnya deck, helmed by Gluntch, the Bestower, is a political +1/+1 counters and tokens strategy that leverages group-hug incentives to buy time while assembling an overwhelming board. The primary game plan is to ramp heavily into counter-doubling effects like Doubling Season, Hardened Scales, and Kami of Whispered Hopes, then deploy token generators and landfall payoffs to create an unstoppable army. Gluntch's end-step trigger gives opponents incremental advantages (counters, cards, treasures), which discourages early aggression and lets the deck develop. The win condition is straightforward combat damage through massive, trampling creatures like Mossborn Hydra and Elder Gargaroth, supported by proliferate engines such as Evolution Sage. The deck lacks infinite combos and relies on raw board presence and value accumulation to close out games.
