Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats engine led by Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn and its flip side, Isilu, Carrier of Twilight. Eirdu provides early mana acceleration by granting convoke to creature spells, helping establish a wide board. Once transformed into Isilu, all other nontoken creatures gain persist. The deck leverages this ability by sacrificing creatures twice for doubled death triggers from cards like Grim Haruspex, Elas il-Kor, and Pitiless Plunderer. To reuse persist indefinitely, the list runs mass +1/+1 counter effects like Duty Beyond Death and Unbreakable Formation, which negate the -1/-1 counters via state-based actions. The deck also contains a potent synergy with Ao, the Dawn Sky, which can place counters on itself upon returning to trigger repeatable sacrifice loops. Supported by resilient protection spells and mass reanimation, the deck reliably drains the entire table by turn 7.
