Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group slug engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy leverages symmetric and asymmetric life-loss triggers—such as Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, Fate Unraveler, and Mogis, God of Slaughter—to guarantee that opponents lose life during their own turns. These triggers feed Valgavoth, turning the commander into a rapidly growing flying threat that draws up to three additional cards every table rotation. The steady card advantage refuels your hand with punishing enchantments, removal, and heavy attrition threats like Painful Quandary, The Lord of Pain, and Archfiend of Depravity. Without relying on infinite combos or fast-mana staples, the deck grinds down opposing life totals through unavoidable burn while applying lethal aerial commander damage, aiming to close the game around Turn 8.
