Deck overview

This Mardu Queen Marchesa list is a monarch-control attrition deck. It has no hidden commander; the hidden engine is the monarchy itself. Queen Marchesa starts the crown race on turn three and her upkeep gives Assassin tokens whenever an opponent takes the crown. The primary plan is to hold monarch card draw while generating evasive bodies-Court of Grace Angels, Skyline Despot Dragons, Shadrix Silverquill's Inklings-and convert them into a combat kill. Secondary paths include one-sided wipes (Ruinous Ultimatum, Phyrexian Rebirth) and repeated burn from Court of Ire. Goad effects, pillowfort creatures, and removal keep opponents from reclaiming the crown before the token army arrives.
