Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck, helmed by Istvan, Butcher of Eln, builds a board of cheap creature tokens and sacrifice outlets, then converts each death into drain, card draw, mana, or forced sacrifice. The commander is a growing beater with built-in damage prevention, but the engine runs entirely in the 99. Primary wins come from repeatable drain loops (Blood Artist / Zulaport Cutthroat + infinite sacrifice chain) or from mass-recursion spells such as Living Death that re-trigger all death pings at once. Token generators (Bitterblossom, Ophiomancer, Endrek Sahr) fuel the sacrifice synergies, while Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos clear opposing boards. The deck is a classic value-grind strategy that can pivot between combat and combo.
