Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Koh, the Face Stealer to exile high-impact creatures and selectively copy their activated and triggered abilities at instant speed for 1 life. Because Koh copies only activated and triggered abilities, it bypasses restrictive static drawbacks—most notably drawing 7 cards directly from Asmodeus the Archfiend without triggering Binding Contract. The early game focuses on deploying mana acceleration and asymmetric attrition pieces like Opposition Agent and Black Market Connections. In the mid game, the deck transitions into board control using Maha, Its Feathers Night and Archfiend of Depravity before deploying Koh to exile prime ability targets. Koh then acts as a flexible toolbox, generating massive card advantage, setting opposing life totals to 6 with Tree of Perdition, or tutoring win conditions with Razaketh, the Foulblooded. The endgame finishes the table via a massive Torment of Hailfire or recursive Gray Merchant of Asphodel life drains.
