Kimahri, Combat Control by johnmillington94

Format: Commander

Commander: Kimahri, Valiant Guardian

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Simic deck helmed by Kimahri, Valiant Guardian pursues a +1/+1 counter value-and-copy game plan. The commander's Ronso Rage ability puts a counter on itself, taps an opponent's creature, and can turn Kimahri into a copy of that creature (retaining vigilance and the ability). The 99 backs this with an Evolve subtheme (Fathom Mage, Gyre Sage, Incubation Druid), counter doublers (Hardened Scales), and multiple copy effects (Rite of Replication, Quantum Misalignment, Helm of the Host). The primary win condition is overwhelming combat via Craterhoof Behemoth after building a wide board of large, counter-laden creatures. Secondary paths include commander damage after copying an evasive threat, and value from cards like Prime Speaker Zegana or Tatyova, Benthic Druid. The deck is a fairly linear midrange build that relies on incremental advantage rather than fast combos.
