Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Aristocrats and Midrange strategy commanded by Ygra, Eater of All. Ygra warps the battlefield by turning all creatures into Food artifacts, converting any creature death or token sacrifice into +1/+1 counters that rapidly balloon Ygra into a lethal Voltron threat. The 99 is constructed with heavy token generation (The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Camellia, the Seedmiser, Creakwood Liege) and aristocrat drain engines (Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, Agent of the Iron Throne, Zulaport Cutthroat). While Ygra lacks haste and high-tier tutoring, its built-in Ward ability creates natural friction against targeted removal. The deck ramps on turns 1–3, establishes Ygra alongside token generators on turn 5, and applies heavy combat and drain pressure starting on turn 6. If Ygra is removed, the deck smoothly transitions into a wide go-wide Squirrel swarm backed by steady drain triggers to grind down the table.
