Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck leverages Eluge, the Shoreless Sea to generate permanent flood counters on lands, dramatically discounting instant and sorcery spells across every player's turn. In the early game, the deck accelerates through efficient 2-CMC mana rocks and cost reducers like Sapphire Medallion and Baral, Chief of Compliance before deploying Eluge. With flood counters established, the pilot easily holds up low-cost or free interaction—such as Counterspell, Mana Drain, and Fierce Guardianship—while using discounted draw spells like Flow of Knowledge and Pull from Tomorrow to pull ahead in cards. Attack deterrents such as Propaganda and Collective Restraint buy time against aggressive boards. The deck closes out games decisively on Turn 6 by discounting and resolving Enter the Infinite, drawing the entire library, and casting Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac with unbreakable counterspell protection.
