Deck overview

This deck is commanded by Obeka, Splitter of Seconds, a Grixis engine commander that turns combat damage into cascading upkeep steps. The strategy revolves around resolving Obeka, enhancing her power and evasiveness through equipment such as Blackblade Reforged, Wrecking Ball Arm, or Psychic Paper, and converting her unblocked combat connections into rapid-fire upkeep phases. These additional upkeeps accelerate high-impact enchantments and creatures, including the Court cycle (Ambition, Embereth, Cunning, Vantress), Twilight Prophet, and Mechanized Production. While the deck possesses explosive mid-game turns capable of stripping opponent hands and draining life totals in rapid succession, it relies heavily on Obeka remaining on the battlefield and connecting in combat. Without adequate haste enablers or counterspell backup, the engine can be vulnerable to well-timed spot removal during combat phases.
