Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and token midrange strategy led by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. The primary plan uses Augustin to tax opposing spells while reducing the mana cost of the deck's own white and blue spells. Supported by a high land count of 40 lands, the deck transitions smoothly into midgame token generators including Geralf, the Fleshwright, Kykar, Zephyr Awakener, and Mondrak, Glory Dominus. Anthem effects like Kinbinding and counters from Sunscorch Regent turn these tokens into a lethal combat clock. While the deck lacks explosive fast mana or infinite combo loops, it compensates with layered disruption, running efficient counterspells, board wipes like Supreme Verdict, and defensive protection spells like Grand Abolisher and Ultimate Magic: Holy. Opponents find their tempo slowed by light taxing pieces while this deck steadily accumulates an evasive token army to close out the game through combat over multiple turns.
