Deck overview

This mono-black deck centers around Tergrid, God of Fright to convert symmetrical discard and sacrifice effects into overwhelming asymmetric board theft. By utilizing over 25 interchangeable edicts and discard spells, the deck consistently develops mana through basic Swamps, deploys Tergrid on Turn 5, and triggers mass theft on Turn 6 with spells like Dark Deal, Liliana's Triumph, or Fleshbag Marauder. Stolen creatures and utility permanents quickly empty opposing hands while overwhelming life totals across three combat cycles. Stax pieces like Oppression, Painful Quandary, and Braids, Cabal Minion lock opponents out of rebuilding. The deck excels at resource denial and creature-heavy matchups, but is vulnerable due to a lack of stack interaction, zero artifact answers, minimal protection for Tergrid, and a reliance on untapping over multiple combat turns to secure the final win.
