Deck overview

Meren is a Golgari sacrifice/reanimation deck that turns creature deaths into experience counters and repeatable value. The primary plan is a midrange attrition engine: cheap creatures feed sac outlets while Grim Haruspex, Dina, Essence Brewer, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician convert deaths into cards, and Grave Pact plus Plaguecrafter effects force opponents to lose board presence. Meren's end-step recursion, backed by Atzal, Cave of Eternity, Eternal Witness, and Phyrexian Delver, keeps key pieces returning. The deck can also pivot into a compact combo line: Demonic Tutor, Birthing Pod, or Natural Order finds Protean Hulk; sacrificing Hulk fetches Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Walking Ballista for an infinite undying damage loop. Yawgmoth acts as a secondary engine, and the sacrifice package supports both plans.
