Da Goad

Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Rendmaw, Creaking Nest to turn every card with two or more card types into an aggressive token generator. When Rendmaw enters or when you cast dual-type spells like artifact creatures, kindred spells, or artifact lands, every player receives a 2/2 flying Bird token that is permanently goaded. Because opponents must attack each other with these tokens, the table life totals drop rapidly while your life total remains protected. The deck then closes out the game using mass token wipes like Massacre Wurm and The Meathook Massacre, which turn opposing Bird swarms into lethal direct life loss, or by resolving Wing Storm and Overwhelming Stampede to finish off wounded survivors. Efficient ramp and flexible removal ensure consistent execution on curve.
