Hidetsugu and Kairi by Gorgonsqual

Format: Commander

Commander: Hidetsugu and Kairi

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Dimir build treats Hidetsugu and Kairi as both draw engine and death-triggered win condition. The primary plan is to cast and reanimate the dragon, sacrifice it to Viscera Seer or Umbral Collar Zealot, and use the death trigger to exile a stacked reanimation spell so the free cast returns H&K for another cycle. Clone effects such as Rite of Replication, Spark Double, and Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic multiply entries and deaths, turning them into drain and card advantage; Taskmaster acts as a hidden H&K that avoids the legend rule. The secondary path uses Rise from the Tides and Creeping Chill to finish once the graveyard is stocked. A counterspell, bounce, and removal shell protects the engine and punishes opponent draws with Notion Thief.
