Deck overview

This deck is a focused Abzan Poison Midrange strategy led by Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa. The primary game plan accelerates mana on turns 1 and 2 using low-cost creatures and ramp spells, establishing an early toxic threat. On turn 3, the deck deploys Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa or another high-impact Phyrexian engine. By turn 4, combat damage and non-combat poison spells like Ichor Rats distribute poison counters to all three opponents, activating corrupted synergies and unlocking card theft from opponents' libraries. Over turns 5 and 6, the deck leverages potent proliferate engines such as Evolution Sage, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, and Contaminant Grafter to escalate poison counters from 3 to 10 simultaneously. A robust interaction suite of cheap removal, Aura Shards, and premium defensive spells like Heroic Intervention and Teferi's Protection preserves the board state while bypassing standard 40-life totals entirely.
