Deck overview

This Sultai deck harnesses Zaxara, the Exemplary to turn massive mana investments into board dominance and game-ending spells. The early game focuses on accelerating mana through low-cost sorceries, creatures, and artifacts. Once Zaxara enters the battlefield, every spell with {X} in its cost creates a scaling Hydra token, providing board presence while drawing cards, removing threats, or ramping further. The mid-game leverages powerful card-advantage engines such as Pull from Tomorrow, Hydroid Krasis, and Terrasymbiosis to maintain a full hand and hit land drops consistently. The deck can close games through multiple avenues: assembling an infinite mana combo with Pemmin's Aura to immediately drain the table, resolving a massive Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate, or executing an overwhelming combat swing with trampling Hydras backed by Garruk's Uprising and an overloaded Cyclonic Rift. Protection spells like Heroic Intervention and countermagic keep key pieces safe during critical turns.
