Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue draw-go control build helmed by The Watcher in the Water. It aims to ramp smoothly in the opening turns, resolve the commander by Turn 4, and pass with mana open. By casting instant-speed cantrips and activating draw abilities during opponents' turns, the deck amasses a swarm of 1/1 Tentacles while triggering potent draw payoffs. Sacrifice outlets and natural combat trades allow the Tentacles to die, which untaps the Kraken commander and locks down opposing nonland permanents with stun counters. Once a wide token board is established, the deck transitions into lethal combat via tribal anthems like Coat of Arms and Banner of Kinship, or through asymmetric resets such as Whelming Wave and Scourge of Fleets. Backup plans like Alandra, Sky Dreamer and Psychosis Crawler provide resilient alternative routes to victory.
