Smaug the picked on by Yoshiordie

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Built around Smaug the Impenetrable, this Rakdos deck turns noncombat damage into a Treasure economy. The primary plan is to ramp to seven mana, cast Smaug, then hit him with Fire Covenant, Star of Extinction, or Blasphemous Act to create a huge Treasure burst. That mana fuels Crackle with Power or Fireball to kill all opponents, or feeds drain payoffs like Mirkwood Bats and Reckless Fireweaver. Secondary paths are Dragon beatdown with Goldspan Dragon, Scourge of Valkas, and Stormscale Scion, plus alternate artifact wins in Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, and Knuckles the Echidna. There is no double-faced commander; the deck is built entirely around Smaug's damage trigger, with damage-redirect creatures as hidden combo pieces.
