Format: Commander

Commander: Maralen, Fae Ascendant

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This is a high-power Sultai cEDH list built around Maralen, Fae Ascendant, blending Elf/Faerie tribal value with classic compact combo finishes. Maralen exiles cards off opponents' libraries whenever she or another Elf or Faerie enters, then lets you cast one of those exiled spells for free once per turn if its cost is at most your Elf/Faerie count. The deck's primary wins, however, live entirely in the 99: Food Chain loops with Misthollow Griffin or Eternal Scourge generate infinite creature-only mana, and Thassa's Oracle paired with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact closes the game on the spot. A dense suite of dorks, rituals, and premium tutors assembles these lines quickly, while an elite free-interaction package protects the win. Maralen herself is a powerful midgame engine and free-cast outlet rather than a required combo piece, letting the deck function as a pure Food Chain/Thoracle shell when she is unavailable.
