Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages self-inflicted life loss to generate a formidable army of Astartes Warrior tokens under Mortarion, Daemon Primarch. By weaponizing life total manipulation through cards like Black Market Connections, Greed, Defiler of Flesh, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, the deck triggers Mortarion's end-step ability to create wide boards of 2/2 menace creatures. Once the board is established, it transitions into an aristocrats and burn strategy, closing the game with cards like Mirkwood Bats, Blood Artist, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Exsanguinate. The deck boasts potent creature removal and steady card advantage engines, though it relies heavily on high-mana investments and lacks stack interaction and enchantment removal.
