Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary game plan revolves around deploying resilient Zombie fodder and tribal synergies during the early turns, casting Gisa on turn 5, and activating her ability on turn 6 to convert creature power into a massive army of 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck features deep functional redundancy across Zombie lords, recurring threats like Gravecrawler, and powerful aristocrat drain payoffs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vengeful Dead. While Gisa provides exponential token multiplication, the list also includes potent backup finishers like Grave Titan and Army of the Damned. The deck's primary vulnerabilities stem from its reliance on untapping with an unprotected 5-mana commander and mono-black's inherent limitations against non-creature artifacts and stack interaction. When uninterrupted, it establishes an overwhelming combat board and life-drain clock by turns 7 to 9.
