Commander: Treebeard, Gracious Host

Bracket: 2

DeckCheck Threat Index: 28

Deck overview

This Selesnya midrange deck utilizes Treebeard, Gracious Host as an explosive Voltron threat powered by lifegain synergies. Upon entering the battlefield, Treebeard immediately provides two Food tokens that convert mana into direct power, distributing +1/+1 counters equal to the life gained. Supported by cheap lifegain enablers like Guide of Souls and Soul Warden, Treebeard rapidly escalates into a lethal attacker. Native trample ensures combat damage pushes past opposing blockers, while inherent ward {2} combined with a dense package of one-mana protection spells—such as Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Tyvar's Stand—keeps the commander safe from opposing disruption. Although the deck lacks tutors to find key auras consistently, its high redundancy in lifegain sources and protective umbras ensures reliable combat pressure that methodically eliminates opponents one by one.
