Deck overview

This deck is a casual Esper build helmed by Queza, Augur of Agonies, aiming to combine incremental card draw with life drain while deploying low-cost utility and combat creatures. The list features 37 lands, zero early mana acceleration, and a variety of draft-style creatures such as Walking Corpse and Horned Turtle. Without access to high-power draw engines or infinite combos, the deck functions primarily as a slow attrition build. Queza provides guaranteed value from the command zone, turning natural card draws and spells like Divination or Quick Study into single-target life loss and lifegain. However, the lack of tutors, board wipes, and dedicated protection leaves the strategy vulnerable to opposing removal and faster proactive decks. In typical games, the deck develops slowly along its curve, answering threats with spot removal like Foolish Fate while chipping away at opponents, but struggles to close out multiplayer games against 120 combined opponent life.
