Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck harnesses Imotekh the Stormlord to convert graveyard recursion into a relentless army of 2/2 Necron Warrior artifact creature tokens. The strategy pairs self-mill and repeatable recursion loops—such as Tortured Existence, Chthonian Nightmare, and Myr Retriever loops—with sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, and Warren Soultrader. Once the engine starts running on Turn 5, each artifact leaving the graveyard produces two artifact tokens, fueling immense card draw through Skullclamp and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. The deck translates this token surplus into victory by draining the table with Marionette Apprentice, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Pactdoll Terror, or delivering combat overruns via Skorpekh Lord and Cyberman Patrol. While vulnerable to instant-speed graveyard hate and lacking stack interaction, the deck compensates with deep functional redundancy, potent mana engines like Cabal Coffers, and devastating mass recursion via Living Death.
