Rakdos Destruction by OctalPlains

Format: Commander

Commander: Rowan, Scion of War

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Rowan, Scion of War commands a high-risk, high-reward Rakdos deck designed to weaponize life loss into explosive mana discounts. The strategy revolves around using black draw spells and life-payment abilities to slash generic mana costs for expensive game-ending threats. After lowering life totals with cards like Greed, Sign in Blood, or Staff of Compleation, Rowan taps to discount high-mana spells dramatically. The deck converts these discounts into overwhelming battlefield presence using massive threats such as Army of the Damned, Shivan Devastator, and Cavern-Hoard Dragon. Haste enablers and extra combat phases from Karlach, Fury of Avernus close out the game through sweeping combat damage.
