Athreos by Jamiro

Format: Commander

Commander: Athreos, Shroud-Veiled

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Athreos, Shroud-Veiled commands an Orzhov aristocrats engine focused on generating continuous sacrifice fodder, recurring high-value threats, and draining the table through death triggers. The commander provides reliable recursion and protection by placing coin counters on key creatures or opposing threats before removing them. Victory is achieved through non-combat drain using blood artists like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Elas il-Kor, and Cruel Celebrant, magnified by Teysa Karlov. Explosive late-game bursts from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Syr Konrad the Grim, Massacre Wurm, and mass-recursion spells like Living Death close out the game once the engine establishes dominance.
