Deck overview

This deck is a high-power casual Sphinx tribal strategy. Its main engine is The Ur-Sphinx in the command zone reducing other Sphinx spells, followed by Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign to turn each Sphinx entry into a four-card selection event. Urza's Incubator, Sol Ring, rituals, and two-mana rocks help the deck reach its expensive threats. Medomai the Ageless, Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign, Tivit, Seller of Secrets, and Uldaros Theorix provide strong value and occasional explosive turns. The main weakness is that the deck assembles slowly and has no reliable compact kill. The Ur-Sphinx can cast milled cards, but milling opponents does not itself guarantee lethal damage. Medomai the Ageless can create extra turns, yet it must connect and cannot attack during those extra turns. The deck can overwhelm a casual table when its engine survives, but its ordinary plan is exposed to removal and does not meet cEDH speed or consistency.
