Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is helmed by Imotekh the Stormlord, focusing on artifact aristocrats, graveyard loops, and token swarm strategies. The game plan revolves around repeatedly moving artifact cards out of the graveyard to generate swarms of 2/2 Necron Warrior tokens. Leveraging a dense suite of recursion tools like Tortured Existence, Phyrexian Reclamation, and Scrap Trawler, the deck converts dead artifacts into an expanding board presence. Massive top-end payoffs like Marionette Master, Cybermen Squadron, and Bolas's Citadel transform wide token boards into lethal combat and life-drain pressure. While the deck possesses explosive value engines and resilient creature recursion, it remains vulnerable to dedicated graveyard exile and lacks noncreature removal.
