Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Izzet spellslinger and combat copy deck commanded by Muddle, the Ever-Changing. The strategy focuses on deploying impactful nonlegendary creatures with powerful enter-the-battlefield or combat abilities, such as Terror of the Peaks, Overlord of the Boilerbilges, and Curiosity Crafter. By casting cheap instant and sorcery spells, Muddle transforms into copies of these threats and gains myriad. When Muddle attacks, myriad creates token copies attacking each opponent, triggering explosive enter-the-battlefield burn, overwhelming combat damage, and massive card draw. Permanent preservation tools like Sundial of the Infinite allow the deck to keep temporary token copies permanently. Supporting engines such as Sneak Attack, Rionya, Fire Dancer, and Stormsplitter provide robust redundancy when the commander is contested. Backed by flexible blue-red interaction and efficient board wipes, the deck rapidly transitions from setup to lethal table-wide bursts by Turn 5 or 6.
