Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Smeagol, Helpful Guide to steal opponents' lands and mill them while the Ring tempts you. You trigger the Ring by sacrificing creatures, then put an opponent's land onto your battlefield tapped and pump your Wraiths. Nazgul and other Wraiths grow with each tempt and form the main combat army, supported by sacrifice value from Braids, Arisen Nightmare and Gollum, Patient Plotter. Secondary paths include draining with Gollum, Obsessed Stalker and Grima Wormtongue, and grinding card advantage with Black Market Connections and The One Ring. Smeagol is the ramp and theft engine; Nazgul are the hidden commander that actually close games.
